NONLINEAR COMPUTATIONAL SOLID & STRUCTURAL MECHANICS

ECCOMAS is pleased to announce the next edition of the Advanced course on “Nonlinear Computational Solid & Structural Mechanics”, that will be held in Pavia (Italy) on May 6-11, 2024.

The course will introduce the current state-of-the-art in finite element modeling of nonlinear problems in solid and structural mechanics and will highlight the difficulties in a number of applications. The course will also provide insight on both advanced mathematical aspects and practical aspects of several computational techniques, such as the finite element method, isogeometric analysis, meshless techniques and virtual element method.

Moreover, the course has a strong international character in terms of teaching body, including renown experts from the University of California at Berkeley (Prof. R.L. Taylor) the University of Stuttgart (Prof. M. Bischoff) and the University of Milan (Prof. C. Lovadina) along with professors from academic institutions in Pavia (Prof. F. Brezzi, F. Auricchio, A. Reali, G. Sangalli).
