ECCOMAS Young Investigators Conferences

Following the successful organization of this type of Conferences by some National Organizations, ECCOMAS decided to extend this undertaking on a European scale with the participation of young scientists from all European countries as well as from other countries around the globe. The conference is organized and run by young investigators and supported by senior scientists.

The target groups are PhD students in all stages of their PhD programs, postdocs and young researchers, under the age of 35.

Since 2013 the Young Investigators Conferences take place on a two-year interval in odd years.

Next Conference

The 7TH ECCOMAS YOUNG INVESTIGATORS CONFERENCE (YIC2023 [1]) will be
held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto between
19 – 21 JUNE 2023.

The goal of the ECCOMAS Young Investigators Conferences is to
periodically bring together young researchers and students working in
broad parts of computational science and engineering and provide them
with a unique forum for knowledge exchange and initiation of future
scientific collaboration.

The organizers believe that ECCOMAS YIC 2023 is also an opportunity
for young researchers to develop their leadership skills and extend
their professional and scientific networks.

ECCOMAS PhD Olympiad will take place during the Conference.

Rules & Conditions

Frequency . ECCOMAS Young Investigators Conferences are organized in a two year cycle.

Proposals . The conference is to be organized and run by young investigators and supported by senior scientists. The target groups are PhD students in all stages of their PhD programs, postdocs and young researchers, under the age of 35. At least the following items must be included in the proposal:

Conference Chairperson(s)
Organizing Committee
Registration Fee, Supporting Organizations
Place to hold the Conference
Advantages to holding the Conference at the proposed place
Accommodation facilities

The Selection Committee . The proposals are evaluated by the Managing Board of ECCOMAS.

Contribution . No contribution is required. YIC Organizers should keep in mind to incorporate ECCOMAS Olympiads in the Technical Program.

Support . It is most probable that a financial support will be given by ECCOMAS.
