ECCOMAS would like to emphasize that all finalists of the ECCOMAS Best PhD Award (i.e. the candidates nominated by each national or regional ECCOMAS association) are automatically also nominated as finalists for the 10th ECCOMAS PhD Olympiads, which will be organized as a dedicated program session in the framework of the ECCOMAS Congress 2020 (jointly organized with the 14th World Congress on Computational Mechanics) on July 19-24, 2020 in Paris, France. Most importantly, all participants of the ECCOMAS PhD Olympiads will receive a free registration to the WCCM-ECCOMAS-2020 congress by ECCOMAS.
The ECCOMAS PhD Olympiads, organized every year, aim at presenting the best PhD theses defended during the previous year and are closely connected (and complementary) to the ECCOMAS Best PhD Award. While the ECCOMAS Best PhD Award aims at awarding a prize for the best written thesis, the ECCOMAS PhD Olympiad decorates the speaker with the best oral presentation of a thesis work.
